Obituary for KATHRYN VIRGINIA VIERS
Kathryn V. “Kathy” Viers, 82 of Marshalltown, died at her home on January 19th, 2011. A memorial gathering in celebration of her life will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Saturday, February 26th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home.

Born Kathryn Virginia Cox on December 6th, 1928, in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Clyde and Agda (Johnson) Cox. She received her education in the Marshalltown and later graduated from the Van Cleve High School.
Kathy was a longtime receptionist and telephone coordinator for Fisher Controls. She was well-loved by her co-workers and enjoyed making crafts, bowling, traveling and her cats.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Gloria Johnson of Des Moines, her nieces and nephews: Steve (Sue) Johnson of Urbandale, Jan (Terry) Knudsen of Des Moines and Doug (Teri) Johnson of West Des Moines, great-nieces and nephews; Matt (Katie) Johnson, Derek Knudsen, Kristi (Josh) Shortell and Shawn Johnson and great-great nieces and nephews Kora, Anthony, Cayden and Caleb.
In death, she rejoined her parents and sister, Marilyn Mattingly.
