Obituary for Bonnie J Kennedy

“Together Again”

AUSTINTOWN - Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, for Bonnie Jean Kennedy, 78, who died early Thursday morning at Briarfield Manor, surrounded by her family.

She was born Sept. 27, 1935, in Youngstown, to Joseph H. and Florence C. Brooks Courtney.

Bonnie was a homemaker who dedicated her life to her family. She was a member of St. Brendan Church and Foresters of America.

Her husband, Robert “Moon” Kennedy, whom she married Nov. 23, 1963, died Oct. 13, 1999.

Bonnie is survived by two daughters, Chris (Dave) Nelson of Austintown and Eileen (Rod) St. John of Alliance; son Robert W. Kennedy of Austintown; two sisters, Taunya Coleman of Austintown and Violet “Duckie” (Bob) Jones of McDonald; a brother, Phillip W. (Janice) Courtney of Alliance; seven grandchildren, Mindy (Danny) Barton, Kyle St. John, Korey Nelson, Aaron St. John, Brett St. John, Ryan St. John, and Tyler Nelson; and a great-granddaughter, Addyson Barton.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Brenden Michael Kennedy; three sisters, Lola Patterson, Gladys Courtney, and Edith Courtney; a half-sister, Helen Bailey; five brothers, Joseph, Raymond, Emil, Anthony and Tony Courtney; and a granddaughter, Amber Lee St. John.

Family and friends may call Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m., and Monday for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
