Obituary for Eva Huzar Grusz

Eva Catherine Huzar Grusz, age 79, of Seymour, the beloved wife of Casimir Grusz, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Griffin Hospital, Derby, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Derby, CT on December 8, 1934, the beloved daughter of the late Konstantyn and Mary Ivaskewitz Huzar. Eva was a rebel, quick witted and unafraid to speak her mind. She loved the casino and was suspiciously ''always'' a winner at slot machines. Eva was generous in helping others in their time of need. The love she put into her Sunday dinners, pierogi, stuffed cabbages, soups and stews, and chocolate chip cookies will forever be missed by her family and many friends. In addition to her beloved husband Casimir, she is survived by her loving children Debra Morrow (Robert), David Grusz (Pamela), Lori Tilton (Mathew), her caring sisters Ann Tkacz and Sophie Zibluk, her cherished grandchildren Jason Weaving, Amanda Grusz, Tonya Morrow, Alisha York (Dana), Mitchell Grusz, Samantha Tilton, Joshua Tilton, Cassie Tilton and her cherished great-grandson Casimir York. Eva was predeceased by her beloved sister Helen Zibluk. A Prayer Service in Celebration of Eva’s Life will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 10:30 am in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (RT 67, across from Klarides Village) Seymour. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am at St. Peter and St. Paul Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, 105 Clifton Ave, Ansonia. Interment in the family plot at Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia will follow. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A Panachida Service will be held at the funeral home at 7:00 pm.
