Lillian Walker, 61, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Akron City Hospital.
She was a member of the community for 55 years, retiring from Babcock and Wilcox after 39 years of service. Lillian also was recently employed by Stan Hywet for three years. Lillian was an active member of the House of The Lord for many years. While at Babcock & Wilcox she was heavily involved in supporting the United Way and also volunteered at the Haven of Rest for many years.
Preceded in death by parents, Aaron Charles Harris, Sr. and Willie Mae Harris; and granddaughter, Cameron. She is survived by mother, Arenez Walker; daughter, Carleetta (Dana) Mitchell; son, David (Danielle) Walker; sisters, Vivian Taylor, Diane Nicholson, and Priscilla Harris; brothers, Aaron Charles Harris, Jr., and Wilie Clarence Harris, Sr.; grandchildren, David Junior and Jayden Walker; aunt, Jeanette Carter; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 19, 2014 at The House Of The Lord, 1650 Diagonal Rd., Akron, OH 44320. Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and services will be from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. with Pastor Dennis Butts Sr. officiating. Interment Mount Peace Cemetery. Procession will form at 291 Noah Ave., Akron, OH 44320 and condolences may be sent to 291 Noah Ave.
