Obituary for Neal Huelsman

 Mass of Christian Burial for Neal Huelsman, age 87, will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 7575 Bellflower Rd., Mentor. Please meet at the church for services on Tuesday. A resident of Mentor on the Lake since 1966 Mr. Huelsman was born on September 21, 1926, in Cleveland. He passed away on May 2, 2014, at the David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland. Mr. Huelsman retired in 1966 as a Chief Petty Officer, United States Navy. He also retired in 1975 as a Captain from the Mentor on the Lake Fire Dept. He had worked for the former TRW Plant in Euclid and Case Western Reserve University. He was a member of St. John Vianney Church, Lake County Veterans Service Commission, and Past Commander of Amvets Post 109 in Mentor on the Lake. He is survived by his wife, Maureen (McGinty) Huelsman; sons, Michael (Barbara Jean) Huelsman, Rollin (Michelle) Huelsman; daughters, Dolores Kern, Cindy Jackson, Kayleen (Chris) Griffith, Terry Landwei, Eileen (Rod) McGinty, and Lynnmarie (Joe) Landwei/Phillips; 24 Grandchildren; and 19 Great Grandchildren; his brother, Bill Huelsman; sisters, Mary Ellen (Ed) Knopf, and Jeanne Huelsman. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 56 years, Julia (Molchak) Huelsman; grandson, Nathan; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters; parents, George and Kathleen (Vanderhoff) Huelsman. Friends will be received from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 5, at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave., Painesville. Interment will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chesterland.
