Obituary for John R. Yanchar

John R. Yanchar, 71, a longtime Mentor resident passed away April 12, 2014, at TriPoint Medical Center in Concord Twp. He was born July 21, 1942, in Cleveland. Mr. Yanchar was a U.S. Army veteran who served his country proudly. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother he will be deeply missed by all who loved him. Survivors are his wife of 47 years Anna Mae Yanchar; children, Thomas, Edward and Nicholas Yanchar and Debora Steinbrink; grandchildren, Amber Yanchar, Edward (Emily) Yanchar Jr., and Alyssa Steinbrink; great granddaughter Leila Yanchar; and his brother Leonard (Cookie) Yanchar. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Elizabeth Yanchar and his sister Betty Daugert. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 8560 Mentor Ave., Mentor (PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH.) The family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.  Interment will be at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chesterland.
