Vincent Mark Davis

Vincent Mark Davis, 46, went home to be with the Lord on April, 1, 2014.

He was born on August 29, 1967 and was a life-long resident of the city of Akron. He was a 1985 graduate of Garfield High School and later attended the University of Akron for a career in Accounting.

Vincent was a temporary employee of the Postal Service for some time and later transitioned into a sales position. He left those occupations to follow his true passion for football. He continued to play semi-pro football and later became an assistant football coach for Kenmore High School until an illness stopped his involvement in 1992.

He fought his injuries with great courage and determination. Despite his condition, he always had a kind word for those around him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Black; and his maternal grandmother, Elsie Cobb.

He is survived by his mother, Mildred Davis; brother, Wayne Davis; a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 12 p.m. at Stewart & Calhoun Funeral Home, 529 W. Thornton St., Akron, OH 44307, Interment Mt. Peace Cemetery. Friends may visit the chapel from 11 a.m. until time of service. Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 142 W. Crosier St., Akron, OH 44311
