Obituary for Rodney Williams

Rocky Williams 1954 - 2014 | Obituary | Condolences Rocky Williams Obituary Rocky Williams Rocky Williams passed away peacefully on March 16, 2014 at age 59, surrounded by his family. He was born on July 31, 1954, graduated from North High School and attended The University of Akron. For the past 25 years he worked as a courier for FedEx, where he was loved by customers and co-workers alike. Rocky was preceded in death by parents, Frank and Loma Williams; sisters, Gloria Jackson and Marcia Ritter; and mother-in-law, Dora Krutel. He is survived by his wife, Gina Williams and his two children, Angela and Vincent; as well as brothers, Frank (Bonnie), Ron, Don, Bob, Mark, and David; sisters, Debbie (George) and Sherry; brothers-in-law, Mike Krutel (Sandy), Bob Ritter and Curtis Jackson; many dear nieces and nephews. So many people loved Rocky. He had the ability to light up any room he walked into. He was funny, kind, honest, and was always happiest being the center of attention. He had the rare ability to strike up a conversation with a stranger and walk away with a new friend. He loved betting the ten-cent races at Northfield Park, playing basketball, reading the newspaper, and going to church (especially on Donut Sunday). He was a talented artist, a great singer, and an in-demand dance partner at weddings. He loved being a husband and a father more than anything, and his children were the light of his life. Rocky would move mountains to help anyone in need, and he never hesitated to say ''I love you.'' The outpouring of love he received over the past few months was a testament to the true measure of his character. We would like to thank the wonderful, compassionate staff at the Justin T. Rogers Care Center. They were a blessing to both Rocky and our family. Cremation has taken place. Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 21st from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Hennessy-Bagnoli-Moore Funeral Home in Akron (corner of N. Main and Mildred). The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 22nd at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Cuyahoga Falls. Private burial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Rocky would want you to do something nice for someone else. If you would like to make a donation, please consider the Justin T. Rogers Care Center at 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron, Ohio, 44333.
