The Life of EVELYN VERGENE THOMPSON
Evelyn Thompson, 93, was born October 26, 1920 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Elsie Heimbaugh. She passed away February 14, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Evelyn was a secretary for many years. She enjoyed going to the Lake of the Ozarks and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Pat (Alan) White and JoAnn (Bill) Hansen; grandchildren, Tammy Heckart, Lisa (Rick) Harney, and Amy (Ron) Balducki; great-grandchildren, Conner Heckart, Mariah & Dawson Harney, Nick, Brittani & Sydney Corbin, and Kailey Balducki; as well as her brother, Jack Heimbaugh. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerald in 1987, and her brothers, Jean and Everett Heimbaugh.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Tuesday, from noon to 2 p.m., also at the funeral home.
