The Life of CECIL LEROY WHITE

Cecil White, 88, was born on December 27, 1925, in rural Arkansas, the son of German and Nora White. He passed away January 16, 2014, at Comfort House Hospice in Pella, Iowa.

Cecil was a machine operator at John Deere, retiring in 1982, and was a member of the United Auto Workers.

Cecil is survived by his wife, Betty; children, Barb (Mike) Robinett, Kevin (Monica) White, and Joyce White; stepchildren, Willie (Wanda) Ponx, Albert Ponx, and Patricia Bregar; 10 grandchildren, Andrew, Jeff, Joe, Brandon, Charlie, Rachel, Dillon, Tina, Tanya, and David; 9 step-grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren, Shane, Seth, Jessica, Brittany, Laken, McKenzie, Arianna, Alexis, and Avvanni; as well as his sister, Jodean Green. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; son, David; and his first wife, Juanita.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to service time, at the funeral home.
