The Life of JANICE LOUISE BROQUIST
Jan Louise Broquist, 59, passed away November 30, 2013, at UnityPoint Hospice Taylor House, following a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Jan was born January 7, 1954, in Des Moines, to Jack and Arlys Benshoof. She graduated from East High School in 1972. Jan retired from the Polk County Courthouse. Following retirement, she worked for Iowa Realty, Keller Williams Realty, Youth and Shelter Services, Inc., and CSC Security.
Jan was a member of WOTM Capital City Moose Lodge 2381. She enjoyed the Iowa State Fair, tailgating at Iowa State football games, and was an avid Iowa State AND Iowa fan.
Jan is survived by her husband, Kerry; her mother, Arlys Benshoof; her siblings, Lois Moore (Larry), Jack Benshoof (Inga), and Gary Benshoof (Diane); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jan was preceded in death by her father, Jack Benshoof.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
