The Life of MARY AMELIA SCOTT
Mary Amelia Scott, 95, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at Calvin Community in Des Moines
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, located at 2926 Beaver Avenue in Des Moines, where the family will greet friends one hour prior to the service time on Tuesday. Internment will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa following the Mass of Christian Burial.
Mary was born on February 21, 1918, in Oralabor, IA to Guisseppi and Aldegonda (Medici) Fontanini. Mary was a homemaker, member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Altar, and Rosary Society, and helped whenever asked at the church for many years. She always enjoyed a great game of bridge and even in her later years still played to win.
Mary was also a life long fanatic fan of the Chicago Cubs. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her Son, Joe (Sharon) Scott of Gilbert, AZ; two grandchildren Byron (Shannon) Scott, and Nicole (Susan) Scott, and six great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church or Hospice of Central Iowa.
