The Life of DALE LAVERN PIEART

Dale L. Pieart, 84, was born in Des Moines on July 13, 1928, to Elmer and Lettie Pieart, and passed away Friday, April 12, 2013.

Dale graduated from Lincoln High School. He worked in the electrical trade for 40 years, retiring in 1990, and then worked part-time for Fairground Hardware. Dale was a member of the former Calvary Baptist Church, and a member and Past Master of East Gate Masonic Lodge, also serving as Treasurer for 27 years. He was active in the York Rite Masonic Bodies, serving as High Priest of Corinthian Chapter 14, Illustrious Master of Alpha Council #1, Commander of Temple Commandery #4, and also Past Patron of East Gate Eastern Star.

Dale is survived by his wife of 53 years, Helen; son, Larry (Lynn) of Ormond Beach, Florida; daughter, Valerie Gamez of Brownsville, Texas; grandchildren, Steffani of Greenwood, Indiana, Erik of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Kari of Des Moines, and Erin and Eric Gamez of Brownsville, Texas; great-granddaughters, Alyssa and Izzabella; and his brothers, Don of Arizona and John of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Tom Thompson; and sister, Helen McMurray.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at Valley View Village, 2571 Guthrie Avenue.

Memorial contributions may be made to Valley View Village Building Fund in loving memory of Dale.
