The Life of EVELYN VIRGINIA SMITH
Evelyn V. Smith, 95, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at her residence at Shirley’s Retirement Home in Indianola. She was born September 11, 1917, in Des Moines to Harrison and Dora Piper.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday, July 21, 2013, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 22, at Sunshine Open Bible Tabernacle, 2130 Easton Boulevard. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Evelyn is survived by her son, Jim (Becky) Smith; grandchildren, Ted (Joy) Smith, Larry (Carrie) Smith, and Ted (Annette) Reeves; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Darl Smith; twin sister, Blanche Piper; brothers, Raymond, Earl, Edgar, and Nelson; and great-granddaughter, Jessica Smith.
