The Life of ERMA JEAN WILCOX
Erma J. Wilcox, 88, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 6, 2013. Erma was born near Exira, Iowa the daughter of John and Rose Ballou on September 22, 1924. After high school, Erma moved to Des Moines, where she met the love of her life, William "Bill" Wilcox. They were married October 13, 1951 in Exira. Erma was a longtime active member of Unity Lutheran Church. Erma loved spending time with her family and enjoyed sewing and cross stitching. Erma is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Bill; her son, Jim and daughter, Linda both of Ames; numerous nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Charles Ballou, Francis (Margaret) Ballou, Ruth (John) Moore, Howard Ballou, Betty Ballou and Faye Ballou. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Unity Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 9 at Iles Funeral Homes – Grandview Park Chapel.
