The Life of ELEANORE LOUISE BRITTAIN CHAPIN

Eleanore Chapin, 75, died Monday, July 8, 2013 at her home. She was born January 27, 1938 in Des Moines to Alda (Elings) Shaw and George Brittian. Eleanore loved her family unconditionally with pure love. That love was returned by visits and phone calls everyday. She was retired from the US Postal Service after 27 years of service. Eleanore is survived by her husband Perry J. Chapin, whom she was married to for 58 loving years. Three children, Sherry Mae Plessel, Laurie Renee Reaves and Scott Russell Chapin. Eight grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and sister, Teresa Emery. She is preceded in death by her mother Alda Shaw, step father Walt Shaw and father George Brittian. A Celebration of Life will be 10:00 am, Friday, July 12, 2013 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, Des Moines, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may visit with family from 5 to 7 pm., Thursday, July 11, 2013, at the funeral home. Grandma lived her whole life for her family and for all the babies. Memorial Contributions may be made to the family.
