The Life of MARY JANE MCMENAMIN

Mary Jane (Bednarski) McMenamin, 84, formerly of Muhlenberg Township, died November 12, 2021 in the Reading Hospital. She was most recently a resident of Phoebe Berks Health Care Center, Wernersville. Born, June 20, 1937, in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of the late Joseph J. and Jessie Bednarski. She was a 1955 graduate of St. John the Baptist School in Manayunk, PA. Mary Jane was the wife of Charles Paul McMenamin who died in 1990. They were married May 27, 1961. Mary Jane was a member of Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church. She was a devoted member of the Altar Society, volunteering for over 30 years. She adored her family and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and season ticket holder for 30 years. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Colleen, wife of William R. Blatt of Muhlenberg Township, and her granddaughters, Molly E. Blatt (Colin Gallagher) and Margaret A. Blatt. Also surviving is her sister, Alice E. Overlander of Wyncote, PA;her brother, Joseph John Bednarski (Maryellen) of Lancaster, PA; her niece, Jeannine (Albert Loughran) and her grandniece Lilly of Newtown Square, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, November 18th at 11 a.m. at Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, 3121 Kutztown Road, Reading, PA 19605. A visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Resurrection at Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
