The Life of WILLIAM ERWIN COMISKEY
A Des Moines man died Thursday after falling six stories from his apartment window near downtown.
William Comiskey, 58, was found unconscious about 2:30 p.m. outside his residence at Royal View Manor, a high-rise apartment complex at 1101 Crocker St. Des Moines Police Detective Brad Youngblut was first on the scene and began performing CPR, said Sgt. Jason Halifax. Comiskey, who lived in a sixth-floor apartment, was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Halifax said.
The fall was at least 60 feet, Halifax said. It does not appear foul play was a factor in the incident, he said.
The screen on the window from which Comiskey fell had been torn out. It remains unclear if the fall was an accident or a suicide, Halfiax said. "That may never be determined," he said.
