The Life of MADELINE MAY CROSS
On Friday, April 29, 2013, Madeline M. Cross, 86 years old, joined her husband, Donald Cross, who had preceded her in death in December of 2012.
Services will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue. There will be a visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. followed immediately by funeral services at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Madeline was born February 3, 1927 in Unionville, Iowa to Ray and Birdine Howard. She married Donald L. Coss April 30, 1945. She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Jerry (LeeAnne) of Tarpon Springs, FL, Danny of Ankeny and Mark (Cheryl) of Hollister, MO; six grandchildren, Joshua, Casey, Travis, Amanda (Stephen) Jones, Shannah (Justin) Shry and Danielle (John) Finley; five great-grandchildren, Barrett, Noella and Bennett Jones and Claire and Lucy Shry; brother, Bill Howard and Sister, Jean Cannon, both of Des Moines; and sister, Helen Aiello of Indianola. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Darlene and great-grandson, Braden Michael.
Madeline worked at Cornell Elementary School and did volunteer work at Iowa Lutheran Hospital for 17 years. She was also a member of First Baptist Church in Centerville, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Union Park Health Services Memorial Fund in loving memory of Madeline.
