The Life of GERALDINE LEA MENTZER
Jeri Lea Mentzer, 73, passed away on March 18, 2013. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
Jeri was born on August 11, 1939 in Des Moines, IA to Helen and Paul German. She graduated from Tech High School in 1958 and worked as a waitress at Jesse’s Embers and Johnny’s Vets Club for 15 years. Jeri enjoyed any type of gambling, betting, cards and playing the lotto. She was a regular at Westport Lounge and they were like family to her.
She is survived by her daughter, Teri Herman; sons, Paul Jeffrey and James Mentzer; grandchildren, Cody, Abby, Shannon, Brian, Stephanie, Matthew and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Chase. Jeri was preceded in death by her parents.
