The Life of Wilson Joseph Pellerin

Youngsville - Wilson Joseph Pellerin, a native and lifelong resident of Youngsville, passed away in his home at 4:00 pm on Thursday, February 07, 2013 at the age of 84. He graduated from Youngsville High School and served in the U.S. Army, was primarily a farmer of cotton then cattle by occupation, and was a member of Saint Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville. The majority of his life was dedicated to family and friends, and he will always be remembered for his sense of humor, tales of the old days, tenacity, and his generosity. He cherished times spent with his family, particularly with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him. A devoted husband, loving father, and wonderful grandfather, he is survived by his three daughters, Yvonne Pellerin Tripp and husband Allen Tripp, Marilyn Pellerin Lunetta, and Carolyn Pellerin Cavaliere; three grandchildren, Christopher Tripp and wife Lindsey Duhon Tripp, Andrea Tripp Wofford and husband Steven Wofford, and Lexi Cavaliere; one step-grandchild, Kathy Tripp Cunningham; a great-granddaughter, Adyson Meaux; and a step-great-granddaughter, Sierra Dalrymple; two sisters, Hazel Pellerin Guidry and Eula Pellerin Bodoin; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Hazel Boudreaux Pellerin; his father Theodore "Black" Pellerin, his mother Edith Trahan Pellerin; a brother, Ovide Pellerin, Sr.; and a son-in-law, Lenny J. Cavaliere. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home located at 316 Youngsville Highway on Friday, February 08, 2013 from 5:00PM until 9:00 pm with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Saturday, from 7:00 am until time of service. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 09, 2013 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Milton officiated by Father Edward Duhon at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery located on Pinhook Road. Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Christopher Tripp, Allen Tripp, Jimmy Pellerin, Steven Wofford, Gary Dodson, and Kevin Guidry with Shaun Dodson serving as Honorary Pallbearer. The family wishes to express thankful gratitude and deepest appreciation to Marlene Frederick. The family also wishes to express sincerest appreciation to Hospice of Acadiana for the special attention shown to him during these last months of palliative care.
