The Life of MERLE LEE POWELL
Merle Powell, 62, passed away Friday, December 7, 2012 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. He was born May 14, 1950 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Merle was a mechnic and jack of all trades. He enjoyed working on cars, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Merle is survived by his wife of 34 years, Charlotte Howard; his parents, Larry and Maxine Powell; six children, three step-children, 17 grandchildren; sister, Melody Mowery; half-brother, Rick Starr; and his dogs, Scooby Doo and Little Guy.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
