The Life of GLADYS BERNICE ROBBINS
Gladys Robbins, 90, died Thursday, February 23, 2012, at Kavanagh on 56th in Des Moines. Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave. in Des Moines, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
Gladys was born August 14, 1921, in Lorimor, Iowa to Bertha and Andrew Welsh. She loved playing 7 point pitch, and especially spending time with her family.
Gladys is survived by her children: Kareen Mitchell, Vernon (Mary) Robbins, and David Robbins; her grandchildren: Shawna, Jamie, Kelly, Kerry, Jesse, and Scott; 14 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Betty Galloway. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vernon; five sisters; and her grandson, Caleb.
Memorial contributions may be made to Kavanagh on 56th St. in loving memory of Gladys. The family would like to give a special thank you to Kavanagh House for the loving care given to Gladys during her stay there; especially to Jen and Sally.
