The Life of ROLAND RICHARD BOOTH

Roland R. Booth, 82, died Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at the Good Samaritan in Indianola, after a ten-year battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Roland was born December 22, 1929, in Manning, Iowa, to Daniel and Goldie Booth. He graduated from Arcadia High School and served in the US Navy. Roland retired in 1995 from NAPA Auto Parts in Guthrie Center after 35 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching football. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family. Roland is survived by his loving wife of almost 55 years, Vera; children, Jeffrey (Tamela) Booth, Christi (Jerry) Irelan, and Michele ( David) Darrah; grandchildren, Jessica Booth (Chris Burke) and Matthew Booth; sister, Francis (Harold) Rodman; and a host of other family and beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Marlene Pell. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, February 24, 2012, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. A private burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Good Samaritan Home.
