The Life of Gladys Landry
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Ray J. Landry, the former Gladys Romero, 81 will be held at 10:00AM on Monday, August 16, 2010 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church with Fr. Gillory officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home in Abbeville on Sunday, August 15, 2010 from 2:00PM until 8:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume Monday, August 16, 2010 from 8:00AM until time of services. Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park Mausoleum. A native of New Iberia and resident of Abbeville, Mrs. Landry died at 5:25AM on Friday, August 13, 2010 at an Abbeville Nursing Home. Mrs. Landry worked at the council on ageing as an Ombusiam. She also worked at Thrifty Way Pharmacy. She was a nurse for over 27 years at the office of Dr. Jacob P. Lahasky. She is survived by a daughter, Rayette Landry Dickman and her husband Leslie of Erath; two grandchildren, Muffin Marie Martin White and husband Robert Charles White of Tampa, Florida and Scott Joseph Martin and wife Elizabeth of Centerville; Four great grandchildren, Madison Elizabeth White, Morgan Rae White of Tampa, Florida, Haley Elizabeth Martin and Hunter Matthew Martin of Centerville; and sister, Evelyn Romero Henderson of Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray J. Landry, her parents, Avery Joseph and Beulah Mae Delahoussaye Romero; brothers Rivers Paul Romero and John Avery Romero; a sister Winnie Mae Hunter.
