The Life of Mrs. Evelyn F. Rusnak

Evelyn Tarnoczy Rusnak, age 83, of Fairfield, wife of the late Robert Rusnak, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 23, 2019. Born in Bridgeport on October 29, 1935, daughter of the late Frank and Mary Palinkas Tarnoczy, Evelyn was a lifelong Fairfield Town resident. She was a longtime parishoner of St. Emery's Church and was an avid UCONN Huskies Womens Basketball fan. Evelyn enjoyed baking her Hungarian specialities, driving in her car, sitting in the sunshine and more than anything she loved spending time with family, friends and especially her grandchildren. A loving mother and grandmother she will be greatly missed. Survivors include her son, Robert Ruseau ( Paul ) of Boston, MA, daughters Mary Ann Kristy ( Frank ) of MA, Barbara Gagner, Patricia Hogarth ( James ), all of Fairfield, Susan Rusnak of CA and Catherine Rusnak, also of Fairfield. Evelyn leaves behind her precious grandchildren, Sarah, Stephanie, Michael, Kaylee, Alyssa, Samantha, Matthew and Nev as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Frank Tarnoczy. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:15 am in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center and at 11 am in St. Emery's Church, 838 Kings Hwy, Fairfield with burial to follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 4-7 pm.  The Rusnak family would like to thank the staff of Cambridge manor and Constellation Hospice for the exceptional care that Evelyn received during her stay there.
