The Life of James F Mulligan

 

James F. Mulligan Jr., age 83, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Maureen Lyddy Mulligan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 13, 2024. Born in Bridgeport on September 27, 1940, he was the son of the late James Sr., and Pauline Teed Mulligan. An electrician by trade, James was a proud member of the IBEW Local 488 for over 50 years and worked for many area companies. He was also a member of the Gaelic American Club in Fairfield. James was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a hard-working man, often putting his family's needs before his own. The unconditional love he gave and the values he taught will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. In addition to his beloved wife of 60 years, Maureen, survivors include four loving children, Patricia Mulligan Ivanov and her husband Kiril, Kevin Mulligan and his wife Sandra, Timothy Mulligan and Meghan Gulczynski and her husband Edward, eight cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Travis, Caitlyn, Ryan, Kylie, Tyler, Ella and Abi, four great-grandchildren, a sister, Carol Thomas, brothers and sisters-in-law, James Lyddy and his wife Denny, Sally Lyddy, Kathleen Sullivan and her husband Eugene, and Peter Lyddy and his partner Rick Messina, his brothers-in-law Arnold Nelson and Jerry Lukowski, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five sisters, Pauline Bayley, Jean Nelson, Betty Lukowski, Ruth Tomatore and Lorraine Balog and brothers-in-law, Thomas Lyddy, Dick Balog, Jerry Lukowski, Ronald Bayley, John Tomatore and Bill Thomas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. directly in St. Theresa's Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road Trumbull.
