The Life of PATRICIA LOU HARVEY
Patricia Lou (Frost) Harvey, 64, left this world to reside in Heaven with Jesus Christ on Saturday December 3, 2011 at Genesis Senior Living.
Patricia was born March 1, 1947 to Louis and Irene Frost in Des Moines. She graduated from East High School in 1965 and attended Simpson College where she majored in vocal music. She loved music and was an accomplished vocalist. She also enjoyed playing the piano and harpsichord. During her college days at Simpson, she became an apprentice choir director at Simpson United Methodist Church while under the tutelage of Maxine Jordan. Pat went on to become the full time director when Maxine retired. She directed the Cherub Choir (to the 6th grade), the Junior Choir (7th thru 12th grade) and the Chancel Choir (adult age) for several years.
Patricia married her high school sweetheart, Thomas Dale Harvey and subsequently divorced in the late 1970s. Their two sons have always been her greatest source of love. She had no greater joy than being a stay at home mother to be close to them.
Patricia’s last residence was at Genesis Senior Living in Des Moines while she battled a long illness of liver disease. She enjoyed visiting with her many new friends while living there.
Patricia is survived by her two sons, Thomas Dylan Harvey of New Orleans, LA and Aaron Conrad Harvey; sister, Karen D. Farrell; brother-in-law, Ernie Daniels of Hendersonville, NC; nieces, Kristina (Greg) Farrell Milbach, Sandra Daniels Sutter of Vero Beach, FL, and Julie (Dave) Daniels Wise of Lancaster, PA; nephew, Steven E. Daniels of Atlanta, GA; and a host of other family and beloved friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Louis Frost; mother, Irene Farrell; and sister, Marilyn Byers Daniels.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday December 10, 2011 at Simpson United Methodist Church, 2600 Capitol Avenue, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be given to Simpson United Methodist Church.
