The Life of CATHERINE FRANCES KNIGHT
Catherine Knight, 88, passed away at her home October 28, 2011. She was born August 7, 1923 in Des Moines to John and Ella Carroll. Catherine enjoyed BINGO, league bowling, and watching sports on TV, especially golf and football.
Catherine is survived by her children, Carol (Dewaine) Ritchhart of Surprise, AZ, Michael (Mary) Knight of Clear Lake, IA, Linda (Fred) Jennart of Greensboro, GA, Catherine (James) Bale of Derby, KS, Rosanne McMains of Des Moines, Mary (Tom) Hardie of Knoxville, IA, Jean Knight of Des Moines, John (Mary) Knight of Mitchellville, IA and Judy (Clay) Crosby of Des Moines; 21 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was the matriarch of five generations. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Richard Knight, daughters, Patricia Grumko of London, England and Evelyn Drummondo of Knoxville, IA; and sisters, Mary Kalinowski of Ferndale, MI and Agnes Linda Jolly of Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., followed by burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
