The Life of PETER L FONTANA
Pete Fontana, 69, left this world on October 6, 2011, surrounded by his loving family.
Pete was born on April 5, 1942, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. In 1962 he married Nancy Halbach. Pete was a lifelong resident in Ankeny, Iowa, where he retired in 1993 from Little Giant Crane and Shovel, and was currently employed with Walmart in Ankeny. Pete enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Pete is survived by his beloved mother, Helen Fontana; daughters, LuAnn Fontana and Patty Barnholdt; son, Michael Fontana; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard and Dominic Fontana; and mother-in-law, Margaret Ann Halbach.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m Tuesday, October 11, 2011, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue.
