The Life of HAZEL C BORNAND

Hazel C Bornand, 87, of the 1200 block of East Madison Avenue died of a heart ailment Monday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Bornand had lived in Des Moines all her life. She was a retired clerk with the Iowa Department of Revenue and also had been a cosmetologist. She was a member of Grand View Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 374 Auxiliary, Helping Hand Club and Ladies Rotary Club. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and bingo. She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Lynde and Jeanne Bornand and a brother, Lloyd Bowman, all of Des Moines; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Hamilton's Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to her church or American Legion Post 374 Auxiliary.
