The Life of JOHN PHILLIPS BRIGGS
Services for John P. Briggs, 77, of 2935 Dubuque Ave., who died Wednesday of Leukemia at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Grandview Funearal Home. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Born in Harris, CO, Mr. Briggs lived in Des Moines 55 years. He was a retired leather maker and attended Grandview Park Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; two sons, Donald and Ronald, both of Des Moines; three daugthers, Dorothy June Dickey of Des Moines, Helen Wilson of San Jose, CA, and Virginia Peterson of Ventura, CA; a sister, Dorothy L. Muray of Des Moines; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family suggets memorial contributions be made to the Community Blood Bank.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight.
