The Life of BERNARD J KOEHLY

Bernard J. "Ben" Koehly, 79, of 3110 E. 41st Court died of a heart ailment Wednesday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph''s Catholic Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Koehly was born in Ipswich, S.D., and moved to Des Moines 34 years ago from Kansas City, Mo. He was a retired printing supervisor with Great Plains Bag Co., and Army veteran of World War II and a member of Dowling Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Catholic Order of Foresters.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; a son, Dennis of Des Moines; five sisters, Roberta Cole of Las Vegas, Viola Dornbush and Teresa Sitter, both of Aberdeen, S.D., Esther Fisher of Ipswich and Billie Steven of Rapid City, S.D.; a brother Daniel of Loveland, Colo.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. Sunday at Iles Grandview Park Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. and where a vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
