IMON J. SHORT
Services for Imon J. Short, 70, of 1921 Jefferson St., will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Westover Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Short died at Iowa Methodist Hospital Friday after a heart attack.
He was born in McLean County, IL and had lived in Des Moines 43 years. He retired in 1961 as a driver for the Des Moines Transit Company. He was a member of Street Railway Employees, Division 441, and the Church of Christ Fifty-ninth Street and University Ave.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy; four sons, Melvin, Merle and Earl, of Des Moines and Wilmer, of West Des Moines; three daughters, Mrs. J.D. Sparks of Norwalk, Mrs. John Creek of Emmetsburg, and Mrs. Richard Dorrell of Des Moines; two brothers, Justin of Decatur, IL and Herman of DeWitt, IL; and a sister, Mrs. Osie Carter of DeWitt.
