The Life of RALPH BLAINE NEWMAN

Services for Ralph Blaine Newman, 87, who died of a heart attack Saturday at his home at 1016 Spring St., will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Park Avenue Presbyterian Church.  Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Born in Bucklin, Mo., Mr. Newman resided in Des Moines for 38 years, formerly living in Laverne, Okla.  He was a retired farmer.

Surviving are a son, Ralph of Des Moines; five daughters, Mrs. Martha L. Tharp of Adel, Mrs. Mildred E. Anderson of Waterloo, Mrs. Marjorie Kubik of Iowa City, Mrs. Bernadine A. Birdwell of Wichita, Kans., and Mrs. Virginia A. Harmon of Des Moines; a stepson, Paul Swanson of Sidney, Australia; a brother, Arnold L. Newman of Knoxville, and a half-sister, Mrs. Rose Asbury of Lawrence, Ind.  Also surviving are 20 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
