The Life of HARRY A PETERSON

Harry A. Peterson, 81, of Norwalk died of a stroke Wednesday at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.  Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Southtown Funeral Home in  Des Moines, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery here.

Mr. Peterson was born in Des Moines and had lived in Oelwein and Brooklyn Park, MN, before moving to Norwalk 13 years ago.  He was a retired assistant general manager with Soo Line Railroad and had been a vice president and general manager with Chicago Great Western Railroad.  He was a Navy Air Corps veteran of World War II and a member of Masonic Lodge and Elks Club.  He was listed in Who''''s Who during his railroad career.  He enjoyed golfing, fishing and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Harriett; two sons, Larry of Gravois Mills, MO, and Tim of Indianapolis; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
