The Life of MARY LOU WRIGHT

Mary Lou Wright, 77, of Wahpeton, IA passed away Monday, August 1, 2005 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake. Mary Lou was born July 27, 1928 in Des Moines to James "Jimmie" Cooper and Louise (Page) Cooper. She was united in marriage to James "Big Jim" Wright on July 13, 1989 in Sioux Falls, SD. Mary Lou graduated from Lincoln High School in Des Moines and worked for the Department of Transportation as a supervisor in the teletype office for many years. Mary Lou was a Master Gardener and a member of the Blue Water Garden Club. She was also a residential advocate at Hilltop Care Center. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, bird watching and had a true love of nature. Mary Lou is survived by her husband, Big Jim Wright of Wahpeton; five daughters, Patty Magneson and her husband, Jerry of Des Moines; Cindy Pollard of Newton, Nancy Holtwick and her husband, Dr. David of Fayette, MO, Theresa Wing and her husband Dave of Des Moines and Molly Lauer and her husband, Brett of Pleasantville; three sons, Tom Pollard and his wife Julita of Des Moines, Dr. Jim Pollard and his wife, Sue of Boone, and John Pollard and his wife Karen of Austin, TX; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Daniel Pollard. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, August 4 at the Good News Community Church in Okoboji. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the funeral service. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines. Pallbearers are David Pollard, Dr. Jason Pollard, Scott Thomas, Theo Holtwick and Andrew Holdwick. A memorial fund has been established for the City of Wahpeton Parks Department in Wahpeton, IA. The Schuchert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
