The Life of LESTER MONACO

Lester Monaco, 80, of 2535 NE 44th St., died of a heart ailment Wednesday at Veterans Administration Medical Center.  Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturay at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Monaco was born in Soldier, PA., and lived in Des Moines most of his life.  He worked as a storekeeper for Solar Aircraft Co., until 1968 and later was with the City of Des Moines Maintenance Department.  He was a World War II U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of the Baldwin-Patterson American Legion Post and Trinity Open Bible Church.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth; three daughters, Virginia Conklin, Vivian Warburton and Toni Burgess, all of Des Moines; a son, Monty of Salt Lake City, Utah; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at Hamilton''s Funeral Home.
