The Life of ANASTACIO F RAMIREZ

Anastacio "Sal" Ramirez, 48, of 511 SW Creston Ave. died Thursday at home of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The death was ruled a suicide. Services are at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Peter''s Catholic Church, of which we was a member. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Ramirez was born in Fort Worth, TX, and lived in Des Moines most of his life. He had been a painter with Local 246 for 21 years and was an Army veteran. Surviving are his wife, Charlene; a son, Jesse of St. Peters, FL; a daughter, Carmen Ramirez and a stepdaughter, Heather Gilchrist, both of Des Moines; three brothers, Marcos of Las Vegas, Vincent of St. Louis and Juan of Indianola; five sisters, Maggie Howard of West Des Moines and Louise Palmer, Angie Kline, Lupe Simmons and Julie Ramirez, all of Des Moines; and a grandchild. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today and all day Sunday at Hamilton''s Funeral Home where there will be a 6 p.m. vigil service Sunday.
