The Life of ROSS B SIMCOX
Ross B. Simcox, 65, died Thursday, April 13, 2006 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John''s Catholic Church in Norwalk. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Ross had served in the US Navy for 21 yeasrs as a Chief Radioman in the submarine service. After retiring from the Navy, he was a letter carrier for 21 years for the US Postal Service. He was a member of the St. John''s Catholic Church in Norwalk, the USSVO Placoderm Base; he was lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the Die Hard Chicago Cubs Fan Club. As well as enjoying the Cubs, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and his dog, Skipper.
He is survived by his wife, Francy of Norwalk; his daughter, Traci Nelson and her husband Bryan of Norwalk; his grandchildren, Jordan and Josh; his sisters, Nikki Hall of Arcadia, CA and Chris Jarrett of Sutton, WV; and his brothers, Jerry Simcox of Biship, CA and Bruce Simcox of Lompoc, CA. He was preceded in death by this parents, William and Peggy; and his sister, Terry.
The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the church, where there will be a 6 p.m. Rosary.
Memorials may be made to the USSVI Placoderm Base Memorial Fund, or the American Heart Association. Hamilton''s Southtown Funeral Home in handling arrangements.
