The Life of ONEY E EYTCHESON

Oney "Sonny" Eytcheson, 70, of the 3200 block of 30th Street died of emphysema Friday at Hospice Kavanagh House.  The body was cremated, and graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Eytcheson was born in Boone and had lived in Des Moines most of his life.  He worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. and had owned a gas station before retiring.  He was a Navy Veteran, a volunteer with Veterans Medical Center, and a member of AMVETS.

Surviving are his wife, Virginia; four sons, Rick and Nick, both of California, Mike of Tampa, FL, and Todd of Des Moines; two daughters, Juanita Reber and Beverly Reber, both of Des Moines; a sister, Leora Peterson of Ogden; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Kavanagh House.  Hamilton''s near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
