The Life of RICHARD E RUTHS
Richard E. Ruths, 66, of 2740 Tiffin Ave. died of a heart attack Friday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Highland Park Christian Church, where he was a member. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Ruths was born in Davanport and lived in Des Moines most of his life. He was a retired systems analyst for Equipable of Iowa. He had been worshipful master of Auburn Masonic Lodge, was a member and a hospital dad for Za-Ga-Zig Shrine and was an Army veteran of the Korean War and World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Sara; a son, Gary of Boise, ID; a daughter, Pameal Newberry of Williamsburg; his mother, Frances Ruths, and a brother, Robert, both of Des Moines; and five grandchildren.
The family will meet with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hamilton''s Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
