The Life of CHANNING H YOUNG
Channing H. Young, 83, passed away Monday, January 15, 2007, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. Channing was born to George and Mary Young July, 21 1923 in Polk City, Iowa. Channing was a World War II United States Army Veteran, a member of the Masonic Lodge, the American Legion and Rising Sun Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, January 19, 2007 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until service time Friday at the funeral home. Channing is survived by a daughter, Luanna Brock of Golden, Colorado; Two sons, Larry Young of Des Moines and James Young of Pueblo, Colorado; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sister, Virginia Passic of Des Moines; and his companion Genevieve Brown. He was preceded in death by his wife Pauline; sister, Edna Bowers of Madrid; and his parents. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rising Sun Church of Christ in loving memory of Channing.
