The Life of ARCHIE D BAIN
Archie (Sony) Bain, 86, died Sunday, March 20, 2005 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, March 24, at Hamilton''s near Highland Memory Gardens, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Archie was born December 18, 1918 in Burnbank, Scotland. He served in the US Army during WWII and reitred from Iowa Packing. He enjoyed going to Prairie Meadows, where he was a member of the Prairie Meadows Gold Club.
Archie is survived by his daughter, Sandy (Joe) Nixon of Granger; four grandhchildren, Shannon, Tracy, Shane and Ryan; three great-grandchildren; sister, Isabel Hatfield of Urbandale; and brother, Jim (Sherrill) Bain of Urbandale. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary; and sister, Agnes Carey.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
