The Life of VIRGINIO PIACENTINI

Services for Virginio Piacentini of 7095 NE 14th St. will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Ankeny, of which he was a member. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Piacentini, 97, died of a respiratory ailment Sunday at the Iowa Veteran''s Home in Marshalltown. Born in Frasinoro, Italy, he lived in Des Moines most of his life and retired as a coal miner. A veteran of World War I, he was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and a charter member of Societa Vittoria Italiana. There are no immediate survivors. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Tonini''s Funeral Home, where a vigil service will be at 7 p.m.
