The Life of JOHN W PETERSON
John W. Peterson, 71, of 3209 Villa Vista Drive died of a stroke Thursday at Iowa Luthran Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Union Park United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Peterson was born in Emmetsburg and had lived in Des Moines 50 years. He was a retired machinist for John Deere Co., and Army veteran of World War II and a memer of Auburn Masonic Lodge, Des Moines Consistory, Za-Ga-Zig Shrine and Boline-Manfredi Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.
Survivors include three brothers, Keth of Des Moines, Maynard of Johnston, and Kenneth of Minneapolis; and three sisters, Geri Vogel and Dorothy Zimmer, both of Fort Dodge, and Shirley Barnes of Leon.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Hamilton''s Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Union Park United Methodist Church.
