The Life of ORVAL L HARRINGTON

Orval L. "Shorty" Harrington, 84, of Altoona Manor, 200 Seventh Ave. SW, Altoona, died of cancer Sunday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.  Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hamilton's Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Harrington was born in Percy and had lived in Des Moines since 1936.  He was the retired owner of Shorty's Barber Shop and was a member of Grant Park Christian Church, the Eastgate Masonic Lodge and the Barbers Local.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret; a son, William of Des Moines; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
