The Life of THOMAS E CROSS
Services for Thomas E. Cross, 70, of 2500 Logan Ave., who died Sunday of emphysema at Iowa Lutheran Hospital, will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton''s Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Born in Hiteman, Mr. Cross lived in Des Moines most of his life. He designed a semi-automatic pin-setting machine used for bowling and he owned and operated the Sure Spot Co. in Des Moines before his retirement in 1944. Before that, he as a designing engineer for the New Monarch Machine and Stamping Co.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel; a daughter, Mrs. Edna May Bullard of Des Moines; two sons, Clarence (Chet) of Chatham, NY and Carl of Boone; two sisters, Mrs. Roy Snook of Des Moines and Mrs. Agnes Deaton of Milwaukee, WI; and 12 grandchildren.
