The Life of BOUNMA VANNAVONG
Bounma Vannavong, 61, of the 2100 block of Southeast Sixth Street died of cancer Monday at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Vannavong was born in Laos and had lived in Des Moines since 1979. She was a maintenance worker with Iowa Methodist Medical Center and a member of Lao Buddhist Temple and Lao Community Association. She enjoyed her church.
She is survived by her husband, Bounhieng; two sons, Thongvanh and Sychanh, both of Des Moines; a brother, Somsak Saythongphet of South Sioux City, NE; and a sister Thongsy Sisaengrath of Dallas, TX.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Hamiltons'' Funeral Home on Lyon Street. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
