The Life of EMMA MALINDA BROWN MANNES

Services for Mrs. Emma M. Mannes, 77, of 3655 S.E. Fifty-seventh St., will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Central Lutheran Church, of which she was a member.  Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Mannes died of cancer Monday at Altoona Manor Care Center in Altoona after a seven-year illness.

A native of Paxton, Ill., she lived in Alden, Ia., before moving to Des Moines 47 years ago.

Survivors include a son, Eugene Kiene of Des Moines; a daughter, Mrs. Ardell Ryan of Arvada, Colo.; five brothers, Jacod Freddy of Fairmont, Minn., Austin Freddy of Armstrong, Russell Freddy of Milwaukee, Wis., Milton Freddy of Minneapolis, Minn., and Walter Freddy of Austin, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Miles of El Monte, Calif., and Mrs. Hazel Hansen of Sisters, Ore., nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The body is at Hamilton''s Funeral Home.
